As a Journalist, I worked for many years as a Content Strategist and Editor for websites and blogs. I included in my content works the SEO strategy and implementation through HTML tags and keywords research.
After graduating as a Journalist in 2008, I worked both in magazines and digital media but especially the latter. I worked for more than 10 years in the digital field including blogs and websites, as a Content Strategist, Editor, Content Marketing, or SEO Specialist professional.
All this background helps me to see digital projects as a whole and to understand better the needs of both the company/media and the needs of the targeted audience. Also, it allows me to sum up skills and knowledge in content, SEO, and digital marketing, along with my current ones in UX/UI.
Please see below the main content strategy and SEO projects I’ve worked on.
My first contact with content for blogs was personal. I created some blogs throughout my life, from the really personal ones in the 2000s to specialized ones. One of them focused on beauty and make-up, called Mulherando. The most recent one, Vi no Canada, is dedicated to Canadian immigration, the moving experience, and life in the country.
Therefore, blogging and what’s behind it (CMS, web design, coding for web, SEO) has always been my interest and what made me choose digital content as my specialization.
While working for an agency in Brazil, I got the responsibility of being the Content Strategist for several blogs and websites of the agency’s clients.
Wizard in a famous languages school brand in Brazil and it was one of the biggest agency’s client. I was trusted to lead the digital content strategy and the client ended up happy with the results. I even was hired as a freelancer by them after I left the agency.
I worked on their blog between 2014 and 2015, and the following are the results of the SEO and Content Strategy I made for them, all collected from Google Analytics.
In 2015, year when I was responsible for their content and SEO strategy, Wizard’s blog had almost 20% more organic visits than in 2014, when they had their content produced by another agency.
Due to the SEO work and frequent content posted in their blog, the organic search led more users to their website and blog than the paid leads, comparing 2015 to 2014.
These are some of the keywords we focused on in the blog content and the website in general, and they made it into the 5 first positions on Google their Google results in 2015.
Ana Maria is one of the most famous TV hostesses in Brazil and I had the opportunity to work as her Digital Editor for her personal website for almost 2 years between 2011 and 2013.
Numbers of visits, visitors, and page views of Ana Maria Braga’s website in the period of March-April of 2012 compared to the same period in 2011.
In that period of 2012, after almost a year of frequent posting on the website and SEO techniques applied to the content, the total visits increased more than 54%, while more than 48% can be seen in the unique visitors, and 36% more in page views.
In 2016 I worked for the Brazilian VivaReal, a tech company in the housing market, which focuses on showing the renting and buying options of housing on their website.
Many of the content planned and written by me or the freelancers I managed, appeared in the first pages of Google searches’ results.
As an example, the post “Strike of bank employees: how to pay your housing financing?” (showed in the gallery above) appeared as the first result on the Google search results for “pay financing strike employees”, in Portuguese, during last months of 2016 in Brazil. This post was a short-tail content that obviously worked well.
I decided to work on a piece of news that worried people at that time, and used the most searched on Google Keyword Planner and Google Trends keywords around the theme in the content.
